• Battery shell or tool rail support is swollen, cracked, or distorted
• Release latch or contact block is damaged and out of position

1. A compatible battery slides smoothly to the latched position, or the damaged insertion path remains out of service.

1. Dry-clean both rail paths and accessible contacts, then inspect the battery shell and tool foot for burrs, swelling, cracks, melting, or misalignment.
2. Approach the rails straight with a known-good compatible V20 battery and confirm whether it reaches the latch position smoothly.
3. If two sound packs bind at the same point, keep the tool unpowered and route the rail support, contact block, or housing damage to qualified service.
4. Stop pushing and withdraw the binding battery straight off the rails without twisting, striking, or levering it.
