FM-10: The Depth Adjustment Will Not Set, Lock, Or Hold

The shoe will not set or clamp at depth, or cutting depth changes during use.

• Depth lever is not fully loosened or tightened
• Sawdust is packed in the shoe slide or pivot
• Depth scale, lever, pivot, or shoe is bent or damaged
• Fastener or clamping surface is worn or loose
• Internal or structural adjustment repair is required

1. The selected depth stays fixed through a supported test cut.

1. Remove the battery, place the saw on a stable surface, and loosen the depth lever.
2. Brush the slide dry and move the shoe through its full range.
3. Set depth so about one-half tooth projects below the workpiece, then tighten the lever firmly.
4. - Push-test and make a scrap cut - if depth moves or the lever will not lock, seek service.
