Symptoms

Tool rotates, but a seated fastener gets little torque or no normal impact pulse.
A charged pack is installed, but the trigger produces no worklight, motor sound, or anvil movement.
The motor can be heard, but the front output remains still in both directions with the bit removed.
A straight bit traces a visible circle at no load instead of rotating on a stable centerline.
WORKLIGHT COMES ON, BUT THE MOTOR WILL NOT START
The trigger returns normally and power drops, but the anvil repeatedly coasts instead of stopping promptly.
The bar is bent or cracked, chain links or cutters are broken, or the guide-bar scabbard is split, missing, or will not stay on.
Saw dead with charged pack
The reservoir contains oil but the chain stays dry, the primer gives no visible result, or the bar oil path remains dry.
The saw cuts slowly, makes fine dust instead of chips, chatters in the kerf, or must be pushed hard despite judging sharpness.
Trigger binds, fails to return, changes speed erratically, or does not stop the drive.
With no fastener load, the bare or correctly fitted output sounds harsh, binds, knocks, or shakes abnormally.
A straight bit or socket visibly orbits, shakes, or runs off-center during a brief no-load test.
The direction lever will not reach forward, reverse, or center lock, or the selected position does not hold.
Charger green LED stays on
THE BATTERY WILL NOT SEAT, LATCH, RELEASE, OR STAY SECURE
After trigger release, the bit or square drive coasts noticeably longer than normal before stopping.
Unit shuts off abruptly
The battery will not slide fully into the handle, lock in place, stay retained, or release normally.
The cool tool starts, then stops during a brief no-load test or light fastening task before heat builds.
