FM-35: Speed dial moves away from the selected setting

The dial turns freely but will not remain at the chosen position during handling or normal vibration.

• Dial retaining interface is worn
• Top cover is cracked or distorted
• Debris prevents positive retention
• Internal speed control is loose

1. The dial remains at the selected position through normal handling.

1. Remove the battery, set the dial to a marked position, and observe whether it stays without power.
2. Dry-clean the dial perimeter and confirm the cover does not contact or loosen it.
3. - Handle and lightly tap the tool body by hand
4. If the dial drifts again, keep the tool out of service for control repair.
